This past weekend, I participated in the Mason Dixon 20-20 Motorcycle Rally (see current edition of Winding Road Motorcycle Times). This is a long distance endurance riding event where riders travel to various designated locations in an attempt to collect the greatest number of point values assigned to those locations. My route took me from York, PA to western and northern Ohio. In 27 hours, I rode 1130 miles and also earned my SaddleSore 1000 (1K miles/24 hrs). Now that I know what is required of my body and bike, I would be willing to lead my own, less demanding, SS1000 for those who would also like to be inducted into the Iron Butt Association. The emphasis would be on safe, legal riding. The proposed date is July 12-13 to take advantage of the full moon. You can respond here if you are interested.
I'd like to take part in a Saddle Sore 1000. I am going to have to keep it tenative as I am starting a new job on the 7th.

Ron, Count me "in". Since its only the weekend, I have no conflicts at this time and I'm having my bike serviced the week prior for its annual service and state inspection.
So I should be ready to go. - MPM

Hey, that sounds challenging... Let me look at the family calendar and see what's going on then.
