It's to bad that it rained on our parade. Dave and Al did a great job of leading us down to Appomattax. The route was great , the hotel and restuarant were really fine and a good time was had by all. Riding home in the Monsoon was not fun but everyone made it home safe. We have to try the trip again under clear skies.
Good idea. The "drive" was outstanding, and I'd like to see what the second day would have provided had it not rained.

I just spoke to Al and apparently Ralph would also like to try the trip again. I'm away the July 4th weekend (if it's nice weather I'm goind a 4-day solo ride), but perhaps another weekend in july we can hit Appomattox.
Regards.

Thanks for putting the ride together, it was great. We were going to take 60 over to Gordonsville, but there was an accident so we followed behind you guys on the way back, did an experiment on how far you could ride in the rain on one tank of gas and then went up to 33 and went across to.
I didn't take many pictures outdoors due to the rain, but I have put what I have up on the web. Of special interest is Matt demonstrating restraint and healthy dieting:

Sorry it took so long to get the pictures up, but I had to go out of town early Monday and I just got back tonight.
Thanks.
PS - Al, check's in the mail - really:o)

It was a genuine pleasure to put the ride together. I had a lot of fun coordinating with Al and Dave and coordinating the route, accomodations, meal, etc., was a real experience. I learned a lot about developing a successful ride, which, apart from the rain, I hope it was entirely successful.
