Message On Sunday, April 27 and Monday, April 28, I am going to check the route for our May Appomattox trip. Anyone who'd like to join me is invited to ride!

On Sunday we will depart from the Town and Country Restaurant (5037 Lee Hwy; Warrenton, VA) and ride the route to the Holiday Inn Express (5600 Seminole Ave; Lynchburg, VA; 434-237-7771) where we will remain overnight. If you wish to also remain overnight, please call and make a reservation.

On Monday we will depart from the Holiday Inn Express and return to the end point at a Sheetz Station (Store #323; 5504 Germanna Hwy; Locust Grove, VA), which is near the intersection of Route 20 and Route 3, west of Fredericksburg.

I will announce the departure times and anticipated return time within the next several days.

Al and Ed say they've put together a great route, so let's go see! Please reply to this subject if you're interested in joining me for this ride.

Message Dave,

I'd like to go, but I don't know about that Monday. Would I be allowed to head back Sunday afternoon? I just don't want to miss work on Monday.

Thanks

Message Well, Wandee, I guess we'll have to let you go home on Sunday afternoon. But you'll need a note from your employer requesting that we do this. :-)

It's okay to break off from a group ride (or return early from an overnighter), but you must inform the leader about your intent, and when and where you plan to break off, before you leave the group. This avoids any surprise, bewilderment, and consternation when you don't show up at the next stop.

Message The departure time for Sunday, April 27 will be 9:00 a.m. Participants who wish to eat breakfast at the Town N Country Restaurant should arrive around 8:00 a.m. to ensure sufficient time for the meal.

I anticipate our arrival at the end point (Sheetz Station) to be mid-afternoon Monday, April 28.

Call me at home or on my cell phone if you'd like to discuss details. My numbers are in the member list.

Message I was hopeing that things at work would slow done a little so I could take some time off, I've been working alot of overtime the past month or two. With the economy like it is I guess I shouldn't complain.Well we are still busy so I am going to have to pass on this week-end excursion. Have a safe trip guys.

Message Well Dave and Al,

That was fun! The route is great! The scenery is beautiful, and the twisties are heart stopping. Too bad I couldn't stick around for day 2. Maybe some other time.

Oh, my total trip in one day was 421 miles, and I was home by 7pm. I hit a little traffic.
