Topic Report on the PARR Saturday March 15 pickup ride

Message On the first glorious sunny day of this spring, nine riders assembled at the Colonnade at Union Mill Shopping Center. These riders identified themselves as:

Ralph Warren, rider-in-chief
Nelson Saks
Dave Robinson
Matt Alvin
Jim Lydon
Richard Etner
Steve Domeshek
Wandee Kirkland
Dick Meyer

At 9:00 a.m. sharp, off we went! Well, not exactly. Turns out that during cold weather, the 9:00 a.m. departure is delayed until 9:30…
Luckily, there is a Starbucks at the meeting site, so it was coffee and sundries until 9:30 a.m. sharp, when off we went! Well, not exactly. Turns out someone had to stop at the bank, and someone needed gas, and someone else needed an emergency last stop at the Starbucks (unclear if this was an upload or a download).
So, around 9:45, after everyone had ambled over to their bikes, off we went!
The route was programmed by Nelson from a 1991 PARR Poker run. In order to get to the start of that run, we followed Bull Run Post Office Road, whose main allure is its (presumably) eponymous name but not, unfortunately, its paved surface which, after some 4 miles, isn’t. Great job, Nelson!
So after circling around and finding the poker route, off we went!
Of particular note was lunch, held at the Country Café, 389A Main St., Washington, VA. This establishment is within spitting distance (so to speak) of the Inn at Little Washington across the street. We'll try that the next time.
After about 120 miles of excellent back roads west of Warrenton, sunny blue skies, 64 degree temperatures, and two one-way bridges, we all went home. Matt Alvin took pictures to prove we did it, and its possible they will posted to the PARR web site sometime.

Message Great pictures - Looks like you had fun.
My "baby" is still hybernating - seems I have some yardwork that must be done before she can wake up.
