Meeting at my house on Tuesday Nov 5 at 7:30 to plan next years rides. 306 Great Falls Street, Falls Church VA 22046
I am primarily looking for leaders for next year but if you have an idea where you would like to see us go and just want to help plan the ride please attend. You can also send in suggestions if you cannot attend the meeting, however PARR needs to spread the joy and prestige of leading and planning rides and events.
We will also discuss the concept of reimbursement for ride/event leaders for a portion of their expenses for ride/event planning. My opinion on reimbursement is that a budgeted amount for reimbursement for the event needs to be allocated before the event. Recommendation for next years rides and events will be presented at the Nov business meeting.
Hi Lem, I would like to attend the meeting but I also have a trip for work scheduled around that time. I will let you know when it becomes apparent but as for now, count me in.

Hi Lem
I'll plan on coming to the meeting. I'd like to try planning/leading a ride to west va or maybe just western/southern virgina. Also, I'd prefer to do it with someone else to help share the pain. This September I spent a week riding in Vermont. I found an excellent B&B to stay, and lots of interesting places to ride. However, Vermont seems somewhat far away for a PARR ride. Maybe we could just discuss it though. --Nelson

I'm planning on attending on 5 Nov. I'm planning on laying out the Spring '03 Poker Run and helping Mike Wascak do an EM run back to the Poconos in '03. I also would like to discuss reimbursement for overnighter planners. Dick

Lem, I'm hoping to attend. Dave Robinson and I have talked about planning a ride south to Appomatox for an overnight ride. There are some beautiful roads down in that area.
I agree that there should be some kind of reimbursement for those who plan trips, but we need to discuss some kind of equitable plan and possibly consider a cap on the amount so that we don't go overboard.
Regards, Ed

I can't make the meeting but I have a suggestion for reimbursement of the ride planner's. I would suggest a 15% surcharge added to each trip's participant's cost up to a total of $300.00 per trip. If you had 20 people going on a 3 day trip at a cost of $150.00 per person, the club would tack on a $22.50 surcharge for the ride planner and charge each participant $172.50.

I have always been a fan of a ride (TO SOMEWHERE)You can only ride to Luray or Harpers Ferry so many times before you know where all the potholes are.
How bout a ride to the annual Punkin Chunkin catapult pumpkin throwing contest the 1st Saturday after Halloween. A scheduled tour of 3 mile island nuke plant, A trip to Lake Anna state park for a burger and a quick swim in the Lake. A trip to a Pennsylvania coal mine for an underground tour.
There are tons of things to do all withen a days ride. We just need members to e-mail in ideas or things and places where they have been or would like to go and we can set something up in advance.
