Message I have a couple of suggestions for the new site. Get rid of the first page. It is not necessary and wastes loading time. We don't need news on the site. There is enough news elsewhere on the net. Use the space for PARR stuff. Can we go back to the old PARR talk format? Under the old format you were able to look at all of the discussion threads with a single click. Now it takes many mouse clicks to do the same thing. The home page could also use some dressing up as well as some kind of introduction describing who we are. Also, I was unable to log in.

Message Chet,
Yes the news item is filler until PARR gets other subject matter to fill that area. Would you like to assist the Web Committee in making use of that section?

No the old PARR is gone... the new PARR Talk is here. Please work with it and you will see the merits of it over the old PARR talk. Also click the "Add Talk / View All Talk..." to see all the threads... Plus threads are on the portal page by subject and ordered by most current entry with an icon showing Replies have or have not been entered..

Yes, the Home Page could use some dressing up, again would you like to assist? Parr’s page is in transition. As stated on the portal page, eventually it will progress.

Also, would you like to write an introduction as to who PARR is? The old home page had very little detail description addressing that topic.

The first page is necessary due to limitation of Parr’s web provider... possibly sometime in the future this page could be removed.

About logging in, what is your exact problem so the Web Committee can assist. Other members have had no problems.

Message The Home page has a "PARR Member Links" section. This are not members' links and recommend the title be changed to "Other Area Motorcycle-Related Links." This way, we're only listing these people as a public service for ourselves and those visiting the site. Dick

Message Dick,
We only have so much room on that line... I did change it to "Assoicates / Member Links"... let see how that works. To date most links have been submitted by members..

Thanks for the input...

Ralph

Message Can the newest responses to the original message be on top?? Whenever I go to a message to see if there's anything new, I have to scroll through all of the responses I have already read.

If you think this isn't a good idea, let me know.
P.

Message If you click on the "Add Event /View" on the bottom of "PARR Talk", it will show you details on what was last updated and the number of responses.... it put the most current entry / reply at the top.... sorted by newest to oldest.

Message As a former PARR Member (and future PARR member once I return to the DC area -- actually maybe PARR is like the Marine Corps...there is NO such thing as a 'former Marine"!) I am wondering if it might be fun to have a link for wayward PARR people wuch as myself. we could note where we are, contact #s etc. in case PARR members -- or any other bikers for that matter -- come our way. we can post abt what it's like to ride where we are etc etc. I have been on the Pacific island of Guam for the past 7 months and will likely be here on businbess for another year or two. we have a huge military (COMNAVMAR and Anderson AFB) contingent here, so maybe a PARR member or two will find him/her-self here at least on TDY.. I'd love to meet and provide them with a bike and guided tour of our little island paradise. (Factoid: Guam has a civilian population of only 150K, yet it has the highest ratio of registered motocrcycles-to-licensed drivers than any other US-flagged state or territory!). i am sure other wayward PARR types in even stranger places (North Carolina, Vermont etc) may want to participate as well...
Just a thought (which is always DANGEROUS when it comes from my brain!).
cheers
tony

BTW: our weather report for the next 6 months is: sunny and 85-degrees during the day; starry and 69-degrees at night...

Message Could you modify the page that shows the locations of the meetings and the rides to show the meet/leave times of the rides?

Message A definite improvement, but it still does not tell me what time to show up. Also, could you do something about the rain forecast for tomorrow?

Message I like what you did to the parrtalk on the first page. Now I can see the latest entry time easily.

Great Job on the website
