Message It's that time of year again!! For those of you who have ridden it, you know what I mean. For those that haven't, you should ride it at least once to experience the awesome feeling of being among 250,000 bikers.

If weather permits (that's real iffy these days, isn't it??), I plan to arrive at the Dennys at the intersection of Rt 50 and Rt 123 at approximately 0700. This will give us plenty of time to get lined up at Patriot. To stay together, we simply have to make sure we line up single file when we arrive at Patriot. Patriot will undoubtedly have a police escort and I'm sure I-495 and I-395 will be closed for us as we make our way to the Pentagon. In previous years, Matt and I have ridden together and we've had a wonderful time. There's nothing like wandering around and looking at the monster gathering of bikes!!

Do me a favor and post a note here if you're thinking of riding. It will give me an idea of what size table to request when I get to Dennys. I encourage everyone to get to Denny's early (a bit earlier than the 0730 that is posted in the events calendar) as it can take some time for the waitress to bring the food. We'll probably push for Patriot at 0830, perhaps a bit earlier.

Message Ed,

I hope you Harley guys don't mind a sport biker joining you. I've never been before, but I want to go. I will be bringing a friend along if that's ok. Also, I will probably only come if the weather is nice. My girlfriend will come with me if the weather is nice. I'm going to pray for nice weather!

Message Wandee, everyone is welcome. Remember it's not what you ride, it's if you ride and you ride. Yes, lets pray for no rain.

Message Matt, you may be riding solo to Rolling Thunder this year. I'm gonna miss ya!! After all, you and I have ridden at least the last two, possibly three, years. Unfortunately, the damned rain is expected to last all the way through next Friday--at least according to weather.com!!!! We seem to be getting hit with a continuation of winter snows, only now in the form of spring rains. If I had a garage, it would be different. After all, I would be able to get the bike out of the rain and clean it up.

Let's hope for no rain, but I don't think our pleas will do much good.

Message Rain or shine I plan on going to the event. I don't mind getting a bike (yes, it's a Harley) dirty for it. Oh, and I have a garage. If I miss you at Denny's I'll look for you all at Patriot. I'll be the one with the funny orange hat. Can't miss it. ;)

(i reservice the right to cancel the above statement if ice or hail is predicted by two or more web sites or if i oversleep)

Message Weather indeed is looking better and better!! Bodacious!! If it continues this way--I'll be sure to ride. Kevin, join us at Denny's for breakfast if you can. Hanging with folks you know among 250,000 bikers makes it that much more fun. As for sport bikes, Wandee, the more the merrier--I don't think anyone cares what you ride, although be prepared to stand out like a sore thumb!! You'll stand out even more if you ride the sport bike while wearing your orange hat!!!

Message Hey Matt and Ed,

My girlfriend wants to ride too. Should I bring a ride waiver, or is Rolling Thunder a ride I won't need it for? Just checking.

Message I'll be there as well. Weather calls for a possible shower around the 1100 or so, but only a 30 percent chance, which is pretty low. Let's hope it stays away. Don't know about the rest of you--but I've had enough of the rain. Time for some really decent weather!! Think sun!

Recommend people think about bringing lunch. There really isn't anyplace to eat and if ya get hungry you pretty much have to starve or brown-bag it. Bathroom breaks also are a bit difficult. You can use the portable potties, but they typically have long lines. For the men, it is possible to hide in the bushes.

See you all at Denny's. I'll get there around 0700; recommend folks get their bright and early as well.

Message ED, what weather forecast are you watching or reading? When I look at weather.com there is no mention rain. Chance is 20% it says. Well, we will all think SUN...SUN...SUN
