I have found out that the group camping area at Grayson Highlands is unavailable for the weekend of 7/11-7/13. The next two weekends in July are still available. before I make reservations I would like to see whether there is sufficient interest in the trip itself. Please let me know by responding here or by e-mail (my address is in the Members Only area) if you might be interested. I don't need a firm commitment at this time.
On a similar note, the VA Guzzi Club will hold their annual rally/campout in Buena Vista on June 27-29. For $25 you get 2 nights camping, 2 dinners, door prizes and guided and unguided rides through some great roads in the Blue Ridge mountains. I try to go every year. This is a small rally (usually about 100 bikes) and all brands of bike are welcome. Maybe we can assemble a PARR contingent.
Chet, Please include me as definitely "interested" category ! I can't make a firm commitment until the dates gets closer. I will have a new position at work (instructing) and don't know my future work assignments or schedule.
I do have a tent, sleeping bag, air mattress bought last year for camping purposes....and need to road test the gear.
I won't be at next business meeting due to being away on a 2 week TDY. -Mike

I'm definitely interested. Just hope it doesn't conflict with my XXXV High School Reunion. Still don't have the date on that.

Am definately interested in both trips. Don't think camping in July at Grayson Highlands will be a real temperature problem!

For logistical reasons (the trip to Grayson would be a 400 mile, 1 day ride) and amenities (the group camping at Grayson is a walk-in site) we are now going to Sherando Lake. Sherando Lake is about half the distance, has lakes for swimming and fishing, and is close to some of the best riding roads in VA. See the new posting listed among the events.
