Congratulations are in order for Mel. She finished the Marine Corps Marathon with a chip time under 5 hours. So now maybe she can ride longer than 50 miles without a stop. Just kidding Mel. Super congrats to you.
Her gas tank must be bigger than her motorcycle's! Good job.

Mel, you be the woman!
But, let me ask you, under 5 hours? I know your H-D isn't as fast as mine, but I know it could go a tad over 26 miles in less than 5 hours. So what happened? Did it run out of gas? Did you have to do some wrenching during the 26 miles to keep it running (H-D's are notorious for that, you know)?
Wait a minute...Phyllis is looking over my shoulder and is trying to tell me something...oh, really...well, if that's the case, though I find it hard to believe...
Phyllis tells me that I'm wrong (what's new?). She says that you RAN (as in using your feet) a tad over 26 miles. I don't buy it, because I can't walk 26 miles over a 10-year period, so I doubt you could run it in less than 5 hours. I thought you were only in about 1000 times better shape than me, not 1000 X 1000 times ;->
All joking aside - Congratulations on a hell of an accomplishment! You make your PARR buddies, particularly Phyllis and me, real proud of you.

Now, let me see if I have this right. Mel voluntarily arose one morning, laced on some running shoes, and without anyone prodding her from behind with a sharp object or a gun actually ran 26 miles? I don't mean she walked. I also don't mean she ran a course on her bike, but she actually ran--as in jogged, hoofed, pounded the pavement, or used the old ankle express.
